Curriculum Corner

In reading and writing we are learning about point of view.  When we read, we will ask ourselves whose voice do we hear, what is the opinion being presented and are there other points of view to consider.  Students are also writing persuasive speeches to be presented to the class.  We are learning about taking a stand and using evidence to back up our own point of view.  Click below to see the success criteria.

In math we are solving problems involving multiplication.

We continue to work on problem solving all year.  This is the 4 step problem solving model that we follow:

I developed an inquiry process based on these documents for the class and a question chart to help students create deep questions that will guide their inquiries:

Our current inquiry is explained below.  We have just started with this and our next step is to develop deep questions and seek answers based on the learning goals, big idea and big question:
